Interview in my view

Interview, as Wiki discloses is nothing but a conversation between two people. Yet we normally don’t see it that way. We used to envision it as a “Do or Die” situation which is inevitable. Some people think it’s a death when they couldn’t make it. It’s neither an act of winning or losing. It’s an act of marketing yourself or exhibiting your worth to a stranger.

Everyone will have to undertake an interview in their life time. Maybe it serves different purpose in everyone’s life. A business man who is looking forward towards a deal must talk to his dealers who are strangers to him. A teacher has to face the queries of the students at any time. A salesman has to sell the products to meet his target so that he gets paid.

What it needs to succeed in an interview?

I can explain it relating to a salesman. You are the salesman and your customer is your HR and the product you have is your profile. Now you can envisage the interview process. HR needs a candidate and same like that customer needs a product and you have to persuade the customer to buy it. The same thing we have to do in the interview.

Have you ever seen a salesman who is nervous while explaining things about his products? Have you seen a salesman stammer when he talks about the specification of his product? Have you ever seen a salesman who ends his day’s walk when he heard a ‘no’ from his first customer?
Obviously “NO”. Wonder why??!!

That person has a thorough knowledge of what his product is and what he wants. He doesn’t have too much thinking over whether we buy the product or not. Same case with our interviews. The thinking that it’s a selection process will cause much nervousness. Our mind is like a RAM memory in the CPU. When you dump your mind with some thoughts you don’t find memory to process the information.

So this is what I believe will help in an interview

Know Yourself

This is the most paramount step one has to do before appearing for an interview. As the name says its an ” inter view ” —looking into yourself. Have a thorough knowledge of who you are? What you want? What you have done? What will you be after few years?

Just know about yourself and when you are thorough about yourself you can be very confident because he is going to ask about what you know so when you know what you know u can be very cool during the 

interview

Don’t be job driven

This is another important aspect. We must stop mulling over the aftermath of an interview. At the least you may get the job or you won’t and that doesn’t determine your life. When you stop contemplating about attracting the HR or about the questions you may even forget the known answers .when a question is asked say what you know. If u think like ”which answer will he find it correct? Which answer he is expecting? “ automatically you will start to stammer because you cannot process everything at that time. So don’t enter into interview with a mind to get the job. You go and exhibit yourself.

Stay Calm with your attitude

As the famous proverb depicts “Haste makes Waste” , don’t get tensed. When you know about yourself thoroughly then you will never get panicked.

After all it’s a conversation. When you don’t get through it , it doesn’t mean losing. We all will definitely get disappointed when we fail in the first try or in the consequent attempts. But what matters most is that how you utilize the failure , how you get boosted up from failures. We all know that without losing motivation one can succeed  in life but how many of us are like that? Doesn’t it look ugly when you know what will make you happy but you won’t do it??

When you know about yourself and when you create yourself to be what kind of person you want to be . you will succeed amidst any obstacles.
